The LXE50 Sprint is a 5,000 lb (225 kg) capacity cushion tire model with the same design attributes as an internal combustion forklift of the same capacity.
The new Sprint has a 3,500 lb (1,500 kg) capacity and is a three-wheeled forklift with a single-phase 120-volt AC on-board charger that can be upgraded to 240 volts.
Both forklifts feature an 80-volt AC drive system powered by an in-house manufactured 230-amp or 460-amp UL-listed lithium battery that saves more than 50 percent on operating costs.
The batteries can also be recharged at a rate of 12 percent every 15 minutes.
"We designed the new Spartan and Sprint from the beginning as lithium-electric forklifts to help the company transition and take full advantage of the promise of lithium-electric technology," said Bill Pedriana, chief marketing officer at Big Joe.
"Running internal combustion forklifts and paying high fuel and maintenance costs doesn't make much sense compared to options like this on the market today.
"Pedriana added, "These new machines are less expensive to operate, they can be charged quickly enough to keep up with almost any use case, and you have little to no loss in comfort or performance. Not to mention you no longer have to breathe fumes all day long."
Other features on both models include a complete light and turn signal package, dual drive motors for tight cornering performance, comfortable ergonomic seats and controls, and Bluetooth service connectivity via a Spartan digital display.
Available options include non-marking tires, blue light, various forms and mast sizes, and a fourth function hydraulic system that supports special attachments.
