Interthor changes name to Logitrans

Aurora, IL, United States

The Interthor brand will disappear

North American materials handling company Interthor will take on its Danish parent company's name, Logitrans, from 2024.

Logitrans acquired Interthor in 2006 after Carl Thorkildson, the American company’s founder, retired.

The two companies had been collaborating since the early 1980s, with Interthor introducing Logitrans’ Thork Lift to the American market, at the time the first skid lift product sold in the United States.

Logistrans vice president of sales in the United States Jesper L Jorgensen says the name change will not affect the organisational structure of Interthor or affect its relationships with partners, dealers and end-users.

Greek battery maker Sunlight Group has acquired a 65% share in Portuguese company Logbatind, which sells, repairs and maintains industrial batteries and chargers.

Sunlight Group invested in its long-time partner by subscribing to Logbatind’s share capital increase, in the process expanding its presense in the Iberian region where it also operates the subsidiary Sunlight Baterías España.

Carlos Jantarada will remain Logbatind managing director and take on the role of executive director at Sunlight Baterías España.
